We are very interested in coordinating concerts, when possible, with master classes, lectures and workshops. The following topical areas are among those within our field of experience:
Piano: repertoire, technic, practice skills and goal setting, classical to 20th century styles including jazz, rock and other popular styles.
Duo piano and other piano ensemble settings.
Piano(s) and the recording studio.
Composition, arranging and orchestration.
Rhythm: theory and practices.
Harmony and music theory (including "Harmonic Experience," by W. A. Mathieu): Kirk Whipple has recently finished working with composer and author W.A. Mathieu, who will be publishing "Harmonic Experience," through Inner Traditions International this summer. This book, a methodical exploration of harmony from its vibrational roots through modern 20th century composition and improvisation, has been receiving widespread attention from a diverse community of composers and music theorists. Whipple knows Mathieu's work in this book intimately and is available to college and university music departments as well as private groups who are interested in becoming acquainted with this thoroughly educational, insightful and entertaining work.
