St. Martin de Vésubie, France ~ Second concert

(Below) One of the many fascinating and beautiful aspects of St. Martin de Vésubie is that a river runs through it. This is one of two such towns in all of France that have engineered such a project. After a fire practically destroyed the village at the turn of the 20th century, the residents vowed to always have water easily accessible.

(Below L) Once a week the street sweepers crank up the water flow rate and use a curved pipe to flush out the side streets.

(Below R) Marilyn reads "Finding Mañana" and contemplates her musical in progress during a quiet time.

(Below L) Photographer, educator, chef and comedian Maurice Ricci.

(Below R) Frédéric Chauvel, Kirk & Marilyn dine with visiting artists from Italy.

(L to R) Mr. Bersanetti, Frédéric, accordionist Paolo Léone, Marilyn, Kirk and soprano Maria Rosa Bersanetti.

< < < After the second concert during the week by Whipple & Morales, Mayor & Mrs. Gaston Franco take a photo with the newly formed "United Nations Piano Quartet." At the far right the duo and Frédéric are joined by fourth member Mark Sole - Leris. The UNPQ plans to tour in 2007 in the Eastern U.S. and Europe. Their repertoire will include Whipple's work in progress "Fives ~ Concerto for Two Pianos / Eight Hands."

One of St. Martin de Vesubie's greatest concert supporters, Madame Vincent, hosts an intimate reception at her home for Marilyn, Kirk & Frédéric after the concert. > > >
