Lots to see! The peach colored house behind Kirk is the oldest building in the town and dates back to the 14th century. Our friend Martine Johnston said that her father has painted this house.

Of course, the bubbling stream runs down the middle of the cobblestone street. The Hôtel Gélas is behind Marilyn above her head, with the mountains and forest in the far background.

 

 

< < < Above the town of St. Martin de Vésubie is La Madone de Fenéstre. (The Madonna of the Window) Local lore has it that, through the years, the Virgin Mary has appeared to the devout in a window in the mountain. Notice the window gap in the mountain on the left center of the zoom photo above.

< < < Kirk stands next to one of the concert announcements for the duo. Only a few dozen posters were put up around the area, but both concerts were packed! The local crowd really turns out for good music!

 

The most famous cat in St. Martin de Vésubie! > > >

We commented to Frédéric that he was "such a nice pussycat." Frédéric replied that, This cat is famous throughout the village for beating up all of the dogs." After we turned our back on him it was not even a minute later when he was chasing a dog down the street!
