Since fellow U.F.O. member David Eccles moved to Tallahassee to pursue his Doctorate Degree at Florida State University, Cypress Lake Center for the Arts High School is now under the direction of another fellow U.F.O. member, Michael Simpson. (Amazing how good things happen to good people, isn't it?) The Unconservatory received an Arts in Education grant from The State of Florida Division of Cultural Affairs to help support an extended musical residency featuring the Whipple Morales Piano Duo. Cypress Lake orchestral students worked with the duo and Maestro Simpson to put together an exciting program of music from around the world. (Below L) Marilyn talks with violinist David Song. (Below R) Kirk conducts a class in improvisational theory.

(Below L) Due to an egregious oversight in the State of Florida budget, someone is missing from this table. Marilyn & Kirk are joined by Doug Andrews (Director of Programming at South Florida Community College in Avon Park) at Corky's Barbeque. The inspiration for this trip, Gaylen Phillips was holding down the fort in Tallahassee. Dr, P., this brew's fer you! (Below R) The trolley ride back to the hotel. |
